Portable Fiber Laser Welding Machine

17 Safety precautions when using laser welding

Oct 12, 2021

With the continuous maturity of laser welding technology, more and more people prefer laser welding machines to argon arc welding. When using the hand held laser welder for the first time, there are many safety precautions to pay attention to:

1.Start fiber welding machine in strict accordance with the laser welding machine startup steps.

2.The operator must carefully read the operating specifications, be familiar with the structure and performance of the equipment, and master the relevant knowledge of the operating system.

3.Wear protective clothing and protective gloves, and must wear protective glasses near the laser beam. (It is not necessary to wear protective goggles 5 meters away, but please do not look directly at the laser beam). The beam may cause irreversible damage to the retina and/or cornea. Appropriate and approved laser safety eyewear must be worn all the time while the laser is operating.

4.Do not process a material before it is clear whether it can be irradiated or heated by laser, so as to avoid the potential hazards of smoke and vapor.

5. Keep the fire extinguisher within easy reach; turn off the laser machine or make "FGAP" is out of darkness when not in production; do not place paper, cloth or other flammable materials near the unprotected laser beam.

6.When an abnormality is found during the processing, the machine should be shut down immediately, and the abnormality should be eliminated or reported to the supervisor in time.

7.Keep the laser machine and the surrounding area clean, orderly, and free of oil.

8.When using gas cylinders, avoid crushing the welding wires to avoid leakage accidents. It is forbidden to explode the cylinder in the sun or close to a heat source. When opening the cylinder valve, the operator must stand on the side of the cylinder valve.

9.Pay attention to the operation of the machine when the machine is working, and lock the pulley under the machine. In order to avoid accidents caused by machine sliding and 2 collision.

10.To ensure smooth heat dissipation, no external heat is allowed to blow directly to the machine.

11.Don't turn on and off frequently, and turn it on at least 3 minutes after it is turned off.

12.Do not touch the inside of the machine when it is turned on and when it is turned off within 15 minutes.

13.Do not direct laser light on the skin. Direct exposure can cause severe burns to the skin.

14.Do not touch the workpiece that is being welded or that has just been welded.

15.Do not damage the power cord and various connecting wires. Do not step on, stretch or twist the power cord and any connecting cords. Doing so may cause a short circuit or fire.

16.Make sure that the correct voltage of the AC power source is used. Failure to connect the correct voltage could damage the product.

17.Make sure your product is grounded through the PE line of the AC power cord. The grounding wire must be firm and reliable. Any interruption from the protective ground will electrify the enclosure, which may result in personal injury.
